Spore to Extract by KÄÄPÄ


We would like to invite you on a journey of how your extract is made from tiny little mushroom spores (like seeds but for the mushroom kingdom). Please, follow along!

Step 1: Spore Propagation

First we isolate mushroom mycelium onto a petri dish and carefully select the fungi strains to grow mushrooms which yield the greatest amounts of Compounds of Interest.

Step 2: Mushroom Growing

KÄÄPÄ’s team of mycologists then make sure the fertile fungi grow in carefully regulated growing conditions and produce the most vital mushroom fruiting bodies.

Step 3: Mushroom Drying

We gently dry the mushroom fruiting bodies to 6-8% moisture at a low temperature to ensure preservation of the compounds of interest.

Step 4: Mushroom Grinding

Our skilled production team uses pharmaceutical grade grinding equipment which can grind the mushroom material to a fine powder under 50 microns (cellular range)

Step 5: Bioavailability Extraction

The ground mushroom fruiting bodies are placed into the Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (UAE) machine with a liquid solvent to extract the compounds of interest. We use purified spring water in conjunction with ultrasonication to obtain high yields of bioavailable compounds. Each fungi has a different, unique, and proprietary method of extraction as the Compounds of Interest are different.
